Krieg - Borderlands

A commission for a client that wanted me to draw Krieg from the Borderlands with the "I Want To Feel Wanted" skin, which was completed April 2018. This was also the first time I was moving between Medibang Paint and into Clip Studio Paint. The client really appreciated the work I put into it. This was the first time I had drawn a gun and after a lot of work and studying the preferred weapon they wanted for this, I was able to draw it correctly. So much detail but I really grew from this.

This is the sketch layer, and I used the white to separate some of the difficult parts that were new to me. Technically the tattoos were new to me as well and I had to sort of...learn as I went along to figure out how tattoo might wrap around the skin.

Shaded to hell and back...REALLY pleased with this actually. This was after I did numerous studies of the character and muscular men. For a first try, this was good. The tattos are on a separate layer from the flats.

Here I gave the skin a bit of glow, afterwards I'd add highlights to the metals, and add a purple overlay before creating the abstract red background.
